Busker's Bash- Friday, Oct. 4th

 
     I was privileged to perform at the 1st Annual Busker's Bash in downtown Salisbury this past Friday, October 4th from 6-8 pm.   I was located on E. Innes Street in front of the Bangkok Downtown.

     I was joined by a surprise friend -- Teresa Hulce -- on vocals.   If you happened by to listen to us, you probably saw something like this!  (see pic)  Thanks for coming out & supporting me and  all of the musicians!

Senior Idol / Squirrel's World Video

     I'm SUPER EXCITED to have been a part of the local "Senior Idol" Competition at the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.  Sponsored by Trinity Oaks and the Salisbury Post, it was held as part of the annual Senior Expo event.  I performed my original song "Squirrel's World", which has become a much-requested crowd favorite over the past several years.  My song was filmed by a videographer and will be available to view at the Salisbury Post's website soon.  I will be sharing a link to that site, and if you wish, you may go view it and "Like" my song- to help me win the contest and $100 cash prize!

Guitar Classes to Perform at 2013 Blues & Jazz Festival

  EXCITING NEWS !!  

  We received an invitation to perform at this year's Rowan Blues & Jazz Festival, held in downtown Salisbury, NC.   Mark the date.  It is on Saturday, October 19 !!

     We'll be performing a few tunes as a group, along with some solos or duets, & some surprises.  We're working hard & looking forward to it & hope you will plan to be there to support us & enjoy our performance.

  Muriel Anderson is what I consider a world-class guitarist.  She has toured extensively, recorded many albums, and is the hostess for the annual Nashville event "THE ALL STAR GUITAR NIGHT".  I have listened to her on CD and via YouTube, but have never had the privilege of hearing her "Live In Concert".   

  She was just in Charlotte in June, and we missed that opportunity to hear her {see below post}. I had no idea that she would return to NC so soon.  But one of my guitar students told me earlier this week that she was going to be here again.

  Who is "up" for a great concert ?  REPLY to me and let's get a group organized to go !

---RECENT CONCERTS---

     Several of us went to the Rowan Public Library on Thursday, May 23 to hear Wayne Henderson & Friends perform.   It was Wayne's second time at the library.  Some of us were privileged to hear him at both performances.  These concerts are provided free by the Friends of Rowan Public Library.  Wayne is an amazing bluegrass picker and guitar maker.  He once custom made an acoustic guitar for Eric Clapton.  Wayne is from Virginia and hosts his own bluegrass festival every summer. 

Muriel Anderson recently in Charlotte

    We tried to get a group together to go hear amazing guitarist Muriel Anderson while she was in Charlotte NC in June, but did not get enough response.  You should go to her website at www.murielanderson.com  to hear some of her amazing music. Look for the "CHECK OUT SOME NEW TRACKS" link and some 30-second previews from her past albums are available at her Store page.  She was the first female to win the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship.   Muriel has recorded with many world-famous guitarists, including Chet Atkins and Phil Keaggy.  She also hosts the annual All-Star Guitar Night in Nashville.
