VA Hospital Talent Show

I am performing at the VA Hospital's 2014 Fall Talent Show.  It will be in Building 6, starting at 6:30 pm, on Wed, Nov. 12.

You are welcome to join us.  However, my part of the show will only be a three-minute performance of one song.

I'm deliberating on which song to perform :  it will either be :

  •  CAT'S WAIL (blues/funk acoustic instrumental);
  • WARM & FUZZY (soft, jazzy acoustic instrumental);  or
  • MORNING JOY (another soft, very melodic instrumental).
Those of you who may be familiar with my music, give me your opinion on which song would be the best to perform in this show.

  THANKS-- Bob

I'm planning to play some original guitar instrumentals and songs, as well as a few cover tunes. Looking forward to it.

Also planning to play at Salisbury's 2nd Annual "Busker's Bash" downtown.  Every year, musicians gather downtown in front of local businesses to set up and perform for tips and just plain 'ole fun!    I played at the first one last year, and it was a real blast!   Looking forward to doing it again !

RICHARD SMITH / "In Concert" @ Rowan Public Library

Tuesday, January 14

Richard Smith & wife JULIE ADAMS performed last night at Rowan Public Library to a full packed house of almost 100 concert-goers.  Richard and Julie performed two sets, consisting of over 20 songs of all styles and genres.

I was also privileged to get to hear Richard back in October 2013, and to help bring him to Salisbury.

The crowd was amazed and mesmerized by Richard's amazing hand & finger dexterity, as he played numerous guitar solos with a mix of blinding speed and artful creativity, exercising total control over the fretboard.

Julie also gave us a wonderful performance, accompanying Richard's guitar on the cello and vocals.  The couple received applause and laughter throughout their performance, which concluded with "Happy Trails" and a standing ovation from the audience.

Here is a Set List of Richard and Julie's Concert last night :
1. Beatles medley- Day Tripper, For No One, Something, & Lady Madonna
2. Cole Porter medley.
3. The Gentle Mating (Irish folk tune)
4. Would You Like to Play the Guitar? (original)
